Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial start of summer and a time to honor the military personnel who have died in the performance of their military duties while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Here are a few family-friendly parades, ceremonies & events you won't want to miss:
Dallastown Memorial Day Parade
Monday, May 26 from 9am to 10:30am
The Dallastown American Legion Post 605 will host the annual Memorial Day Parade. The parade starts at 9am and begins on E Main St at Park St. It continues west on Main St to the end of town at Union Cemetary. At that time, there will be a Memorial Day Ceremony honoring all of our soldiers.
Dillsburg Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony
May 26 the parade leaves VFW parking lot at 11:00 and has a flag-raising ceremony at Dillsburg Fire station in route to Dillsburg Cemetary.
East Prospect Borough Memorial Day Parade
Join us on May 25 at 3pm as we come together to honor and remember the courageous servicemen and women who have selflessly fought to protect our beloved country and preserve our freedom at the annual Memorial Day Parade.
Etters Memorial Day Parade
Monday, May 26th 10:00 am. The parade will start at 10:00 a.m. at Parkville Bible Church, 850 Whisler Road and will end at Paddletown St, Paul's United Methodist Church. Ceremony immediately following.
Glen Rock Memorial Day Ceremony
The Glen Rock Memorial Day ceremony will take place on May 26, 2024, at the Immanuel Cemetery on Church Street. at 11:00 am.
In case of rain, the service will be at the Immanuel UMC Church 1 New St.
The public is invited to the Austin L Grove Post 403 following the service for refreshments.
Hanover Memorial Day Parade
The Annual Memorial Day Parade and Memorial Day Observance to be held Monday, May 26, 2025 at 8:30 AM.
During the services there will be three volleys of rifle fire by the Allied Veterans Council Honor Guard and a 7 round Cannon Salute by the 108th Field Artillery, Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Pennsylvania Army National Guard, followed by Taps performed by a bugle player.
Parade route: It will start forming at 7:30 AM on Carlisle Street between Chestnut Street and Library Place.
The Parade will move on Carlisle Street on a direct route to Mount Olivet Cemetery (725 Baltimore St, Hanover, PA 17331), where services will be held at the platform near the soldier's monument.
New Freedom Memorial Day Ceremony
Join us at Veterans Park ( The Coop Baseball Field) May 26 at 11:00am as we come together to honor our courageous servicemen and women. Music provided by Brodbecks Band.
Wrightsville Memorial Day Parade
The Wrightsville Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 26th.
The parade will begin at 1 pm at the corner of Hellam St/2nd St and proceed up Hellam St, ending at Fairview Cemetery just after the stop light at 6th Street. A ceremony will follow at the cemetery.
The Wrightsville American Legion is proudly sponsoring the parade.
York County Department of Veterans Affairs Memorial Day Wreath Laying Ceremony
Join us for the annual York County Memorial Day wreath-laying ceremony May 26 at 11:00 am at the Veterans Memorial Gold Star Healing and Peace Garden, 1000 Vander Avenue in York.

Memorial Day Gold Star Memorial 5K
This 5K Run & 9 Mile Tour de Memorials offers three events to choose from on Monday May 26 at 7:30 am- a 5K running race, a non-competitive 5K walk, or 9 mile “Tour the Memorials” event where you can run, ride your bicycle, or walk and pass by every war memorial in York city.
Flags for Heroes & Dedication Ceremony
Celebrate and honor those who protect us and have made our country free by joining the Southern York County Rotary & the Lions Club for the Annual Flag for Heroes flags display at New Freedom Green.
Special honor to fallen West York Borough Police Officer Andrew Duarte
Featuring music by the Susquehannock High School band.
